A Person in White Fed Me

Boy stuck under rubble survives earthquoake in Turkey

These word immediately captured my attention. I discovered that his was reported on February 16, 2023 by ChurchPOP and a few others. The report read:

One incredible testimony moving across social media discusses the miraculous survival story of a five year old boy rescued 192 hours (8 days) after the earthquake. Upon questioning, authorities asked how he survived for so long. According to the French organisatio SOS Christians of the East, the boy said a man dressed in white provided food for him and water and disappeared.

This made me think of the scripture "O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth, who have set Your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies. That you may silence the enemy and the avenger." Psalm 8:1-2. God is still God, and Jesus still reveals Himself, or sends His angels to do His work on earth today, just as He did in the Old and New Testaments.

Lord, we expect You, the Lord of Your Church to do a few miracles here at WBC during this month of March, as we prepare to celebrate Your death, burial and resurrection next month.

Packed with Potential
Looking back, I can say: “Immanuel” God has truly been with us through the ups and downs of 2022. We are still here to celebrate the dawning of another new year – 2023. We may choose to dwell on the negatives, obstacles, difficulties of 2022, or we can praise God for guiding us safely through the twists and turns of the past year. I would rather choose the latter, than waste time bemoaning what is behind us. Let us look ahead for all that God... read more

God was with Mary & Joseph, Jesus was Unique
Most people want to celebrate Christmas at almost every occasion. Which raises a couple of questions. What is being celebrated? And, what is Christmas? The best way to answer these two questions, is to look at Joseph, Mary & Joseph. Read carefully, what the Gospel writers have recorded about Joseph, Mary and Jesus and you will understand that we should be celebrating a person, not a meaningless celebration. Something that is overlooked during... read more

TWO MONTHS MORE!
You must be intrigued by my title this month. Many would instinctively think: “Two months more” for the Christmas season to be over, 2022 will be behind us, or... I was thinking, in two months more we could assess, whether we lived lives that pleased our Lord, whether our prayer-life was enhanced, or our understanding of God’s Word and His Will for our lives was deepened. Two months more, and what would the Lord actually say to each one of... read more

**THE POWER OF PRAYER** What is Prayer? Why do we pray? When do we pray? Most people around the world pray. People of all religious persuasions pray. I will be addressing all these questions and more when I begin a series of studies on THE POWER OF PRAYER, beginning on the 1st Sunday of this month. Prayer isn’t a magical formula for getting what we want. Neither is it reserved as a special privilege for ‘holy’ people or for special times and... read more

July 2022
**THE COOLEST MONTH OF THE YEAR** July is always the coolest month of the year in Wonthaggi. This reminds me of what Jesus–the Lord of His Church said to another Church. He was disappointed with His Church at Ephesus whose love was growing cold. You can read all about this in the second chapter of the Book of Revelation. Jesus actually praises the Ephesian Church for all the good things they were doing. He commends their hard work and... read more

January 2022
Many look back on 2021 and say… “What a year!” “The locked down year!” I know that we are expecting a year of freedom from restrictions through 2022. It is this time of year when people make New Year resolutions. Statistics show that in a few weeks those resolutions are broken. Did you make a resolution for this year? Three New Year resolutions always stand out each year. They are: I must lose weight, exercise more, and control my eating... read more

December 2020
What a year 2020 has been it has been; a year like no other. As we head Into Christmas I was drawn to Isaiah 6:9 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. In the lead up to Christmas please take the time to reflect on the Baby that Changed the world the Son of God that came and lived amongst us, the... read more

March 2020
The other day I was reading through Psalm 106, as part of my bible reading, and 1 verse jumped off the page to me. Previously in the chapter it mentions all the extraordinary things God had done for his people (the Israelites) in leading them out of Egypt, and on a journey to the promised land. Then v20 ** They exchanged their glorious God,      For a image of a Bull, which eats grass.** The rest of the story can be found in Ex 32, but it... read more

February 2020
Rhythm of Life I love January, the normal routines of life have not begun yet there are fewer events on the calendar. Life seems to move at a different pace in January and I like it. However, January does not last forever, February is on its way and then before you know it, it’s March and August and then November morphs into December and another year is gone and we collapse into January. The reason January is the best is because of the gaps... read more

December 2019
**It’s December! Wow!** As I reflect on the Christmas story again, I am reminded of the great passage from Isaiah 9:6 **6 For a child has been born for us,      a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders;     and he is named Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,     Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace** These words were most likely by the Prophet Isaiah hundreds of years before Jesus... read more

Isn’t it interesting how we learn...Jesus was a great teacher, transforming ordinary people into world changing disciples...how did he do it? **Most would say there are 4 stages of learning:** - Generally it begins with an invitation to watch. We observe how a task is done, see the best way to do it and how to manage problems as they arise - Then we are invited to join in the activity with simple achievable steps that build our confidence... read more
