December 2019

It’s December! Wow!

As I reflect on the Christmas story again, I am reminded of the great passage from Isaiah 9:6

6 For a child has been born for us,
     a son given to us;
authority rests upon his shoulders;
    and he is named
Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace

These words were most likely by the Prophet Isaiah hundreds of years before Jesus was born. And here we are over 2000 years after the birth of Jesus, still quoting them and most of us have probably even memorised them.

Isaiah was prophesying about the future and now we can look back and see the fulfillment of those prophecies. We know that Jesus is the “Wonderful counsellor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of peace”

This Christmas take time to reflect on the Baby that changed the world.
