God was with Mary & Joseph, Jesus was Unique

Most people want to celebrate Christmas at almost every occasion. Which raises a couple of questions. What is being celebrated? And, what is Christmas? The best way to answer these two questions, is to look at Joseph, Mary & Joseph. Read carefully, what the Gospel writers have recorded about Joseph, Mary and Jesus and you will understand that we should be celebrating a person, not a meaningless celebration.

Something that is overlooked during most Christmas celebrations is how God was working behind the scenes to validate certain prophesies about the birth of Jesus Christ. It is amazing that out of the entire human race, God chose Joseph and Mary to be the parents to raise His eternal son. Have youever wondered why God allowed you to be born to your parents and not someone else? Or maybe why you were born in the state or country that you were born in? This shows us that God is always in control of everything and He has a very good reason for whatever He chooses to do.

Jesus is the “unique” second person of the Godhead sharing the same divine nature as God. Jesus is “unique” because He is eternal. He existed in the past, He exists in the present, and He will exist for all eternity in the future. Read John 1:1–3, 14; John 8:58. Jesus is “unique” in that He is sinless. Jesus is “unique” as the apostle John has recorded “Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written." John 21:25

Marjorie and I wish you all God’s very best during your celebration of the birth of our Lord and

Saviour Jesus Christ into this world.
